Many Kiwi Travel Club members have fond memories of Elvis, and this is one of our most popular tours. As you would expect the club tour includes a visit to Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley. Not only does this tour include a full day at Graceland you also visit many places where Elvis recorded his many memorable numbers. This tour is a “must-see” for any music fan, but especially for those who love Elvis.

GRACELAND

For many the highlight will be the full day excursion to Graceland. You will visit the mansion and walk through the decadent and quirky rooms where he felt truly at home. You finish your tour of the mansion with a visit to the Meditation Garden, where Elvis often went to reflect on life, and where he is now laid to rest along with members of his family. You’ll then be able to board “The King’s” private jet and view his collection of cars. It is a short walk to your accommodation at the Guest House at Graceland (The Heartbreak Hotel)

SUN STUDIO

Your guided tour of Memphis includes a visit to Sun Studio, probably the most famous recording studio in the world, where rock ‘n’ roll was first recorded. Hear outtakes from sessions, stand in the very same spot that Elvis first recorded, see memorabilia, and relive the history of the studio that launched the careers of Johnny Cash, BB King, and many other music legends.

BEALE STREET  

The place to be in Memphis!    Known as the “Home of the Blues,” Beale Street is a must-visit spot for anyone who loves live music and great food. Start your evening at sunset, for awesome views over the Mississippi …

ROCK & SOUL MUSEUM

It tells the story of musical pioneers who, for the love of music, overcame racial and socio-economic barriers to create the music that shook the entire world.. It will take you from the rural field hollers and sharecroppers of the 1930s, through the explosion of Sun, Stax, and Hi Records, inside Memphis’ musical heyday in the 70s, to its global musical influence. The museum’s digital audio tour guide is packed with over 300 minutes of information, including over 100 songs. It takes visitors at their own pace through seven galleries featuring 3 audio visual programs, more than 30 instruments, 40 costumes, and other musical treasures.

ELVIS BIRTHPLACE 

The group travels on a day trip to Tupelo to view Elvis’s birthplace and visit the adjacent exhibitions.
